After teasing the Oneplus Concept One smartphone at this week, OnePlus has eventually unveiled the gadget at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 at Las Vegas.

The OnePlus Concept One looks like with a notch-less display and a pop-up selfie camera. However, what makes the Concept One stand aside is its color-shifting glass technology that creates the phantasm of ‘disappearing cameras’ and its leather-based back.

How do the OnePlus Concept One rear cameras disappear ?

Let’s discuss about the rear design of the smartphone a little more, which is really the highlight. At the back, in the middle of the orange leather, there is a class cutout at the top, which sports a vertical triple camera area that is neatly tucked below an electrochromic glass.

How the magic works..?

When a current is applied to glass, it can change from opaque to transparent. This glass is used for sunroofs of some luxurious cars like (McLaren 720S Spider) 

Thanks to the electrochromic glass, the cameras stay invisible till the camera is turned on. When the camera app is shut, the camera setup goes returned to being invisible.

OnePlus says it takes only 0.7 seconds for the glass to transition from transparent to opaque.
